All the African Elephant ivory from which these Randall Made knife handles were crafted pre-dates the ivory ban of 1989. Additionally these knives, handled with pre-ban African Elephant ivory, qualify for the de minimis exemption of the current USFWS ivory restrictions and may be traded in interstate commerce.

@Mini Model #25 Ivory/Scrimshaw Image
First offered in 1996, the model #25 was the first edition (1500 knives) in the second series of Randall miniatures. To authenticate these miniatures each knife has a small transponder embedded in the handle that corresponds to the serial number. Of the 1500 only 100 were handled in ivory, 75 with fossil and 25 with elephant.  The Mini #25 miniature, #1439, is one of only 25 or so with Elephant ivory and one of only 7 or 8 that I scrimshawed. This example features Mt. Rushmore. Like most of the ivory minis #1439  has a crack along the top of the handle that has been repaired by the Randall shop.
