This set is serial number #232 of 500 Limited Edition "Vietnam Veteran" Randall Model #14. This edition was offered by Randall dealer Tom Clinton in 2003 and features stainless steel, brass hilt, brown linen micarta and custom etching on the reverse trademark side of the blade "Vietnam Veteran" 232 of 500. This set #232 acknowledges
the service and accomplishments of Sergeant Charles "Chuck" Mawhinney a United States Marine scout sniper who holds the Corps' record for the most confirmed kills, having recorded 103 confirmed kills and 216 probable kills in 16 months during the Vietnam War.
Accompanying this special Randall is an exact 1/3 scale miniature of the knife crafted by SCAR. Both knives are furnished with custom Sullivan's sheaths by Greg Gutcher and a custom zipper case. The back of the Model #14 sheath has been signed by Mawhinney with photo provenance. Also included is a certificate of authenticity by Pete Hamilton (#007). This is a genuine one-of-a-kind Randall knife honoring the best of the best.

Early Mini Bear Bowie

This is an extremely rare first edition Randall Miniature Model 12 Bear Bowie. Features include a 3 3/8 inch stainless blade etched with W.D. Randall's signature, nickel silver forward curved hilt and an antique whale tooth handle. This mini was offered in Rhett Stidham's 1991 "Green Catalog" where Randall shop foreman Pete Hamilton states that there were fewer than 20 miniature Bear Bowies produced and that this knife is probably the only example with an antique whale tooth handle.

Nordic Bowie FWI Skaggs

This Nordic dealer special #237 was commissioned by Dave Harvey owner of Nordic knives to honor the Nordic heritage. It features a 7" stainless steel blade, forward curved brass hilt with brass/red spacers. The beautifully colored fossil walrus ivory handle features the Norse god's "Odin's Mask" scrimshawed by Ron Skaggs. The hilt was engraved by Ron Skaggs with Norse Runes and symbols. Furnished with a Sullivan's no-hone brown leather sheath. It's uncommon to find a piece both engraved and scrimshawed by Ron Skaggs.

12-6" Leschorn Bowie

This "Little Bear" Bowie features a 6" stainless steel blade with a separate "S", Nickel silver squared top single hilt, special fiber spacers, Brazilian Rosewood handle and pinned aluminum butt cap.
This is a very early example of a "blade only" build by the legionary Tom Leschorn. Tom was the only person who could get a finished blade from the Randall shop. The pinned butt cap is one of Tom's trademarks.
The Rosewood handle is completely carved, in deep relief, with Tom's iconic oak leaf and acorn motif. Each side of the handle carries an oval ivory disk inlaid and relief carved with a figures of a Bighorn Sheep on the front and a leaping deer on the reverse. The oak leaf and acorn motif is carried to the engraving on the hilt and butt cap.

For a short period of time back in the 1990s would accept and install multi piece handles furnished by the customer. It seems they presented more problems than they were worth and were soon discontinued. This Bear Bowie features an 8" stainless blade and carries a forward curve, nickel silver hilt with metal and black spacers. The two sections of the handle are Narwhal ivory followed by a fossil ivory artifact fire starter. Furnished with a Gutcher custom Lion skin sheath with an ivory cabochon.
